A new book makes historic works of art accessible to everyone in the best possible way.

Back in 2011, art blogger Jeff Hamada asked the internet to recreate their favourite paintings through contemporary photographs.

No one expected the incredible response – hundreds of people got involved by stepping into paintings and making them their own.

Amazingly, non-professional artists from all walks of life joined in, each adding their own unique spin.

In some of the photos, the chosen painting has been painstakingly recreated to match the original – the attention to detail is simply astonishing.

Other interpretations are quirky and entertaining. Gracing the cover is a gender bending version of ‘La Grand Odalisque’, where a man playfully replaces the breast with an orange.

KFC Has Announced A Bluetooth-Powered Fried Chicken Bucket PRINTS POLAROIDS
Introducing the Memories Bucket (Picture: KFC Canada)

Chicken and selfies – the perfect combo. Of course.

KFC’s latest bucket is a little different from their usual offerings. For one, you can’t eat its USP.

You see the sentimentally-named ‘Memories Bucket’ not only holds enough fried chicken to keep a family of five going for a week, but it also doubles as a bluetooth-powered photo printer.

Of course.

But before you rush out to get your mitts on one, we’re afraid to tell you that the high tech bucket is only available in Canada, where it’s been created to celebrate KFC’s 60th anniversary.

Mattias Hulting and Peder Wikstrom know more about sex toys than most married men in their 40s.

The two Swedish entrepreneurs are the brains behind Smile Makers, a new range of ‘friendly’ vibrators that are being sold in Superdrug, not in sex shops.

The £34.99 vibrators, an anthropomorphic collection of ergonomic, pastel-coloured vibes based on traditionally lusted-after characters – fireman, Frenchman, millionaire and tennis coach –  sit alongside shampoos, lipsticks and loofahs because, according to Mattias and Peder, sex toys are a day-to-day essential that should be purchased free from shame and stigma and displays of PVC gimpwear.

Who knew a beard could be so emotional? (Picture: BBR/YouTube)

Shaving off facial hair might not sound like a big deal, but this man’s wife and kids had never seen him without his 14-year-old beard.

This meant things got surprisingly emotional in this short documentary about Mook’s journey to the land of smooth faces.

Yes, the documentary is advertising a razor but you’d have to have a heart of stone to not feel moved by the video.

It starts off with Mook (beard still intact) talking about what he thinks will happen after shaving: ‘Five minutes of shock, bitter weeping for half an hour, then acceptance.’

As cliché as it sounds, friends really are the family that we choose.

After all, you’d probably prefer to spend time with them than your Auntie Joan, who’s asleep by 7pm every night.

And you can’t imagine life without your friends: it really would be too awful.

If you thought pregnancy and parenthood was all smiles and giggles, you’d be wrong.

Mummy blogger (or mommy blogger as she’s American) Meghna Shah has created a straight-talking character, Mommie Poppins, to lift the lid on the realities of pregnancy and parenthood.

The New York-based mum-of-one told Vegabomb: ‘When I was pregnant with my son, I realized that pregnancy and motherhood is hard and having a sense of humor (and alcohol) is sometimes the only way to get through a rough day.’

Here are some of her wittiest posts so far…

Coming out as gay is not always an easy experience, but this teacher is brave enough to do it every year for her new students.

In 2009, drama teacher Emma Baldry chose to take on her partner’s surname after a civil partnership ceremony. The happy occasion came with a difficult decision – whether to tell students she had married a man, or be honest about her sexuality.

Baldry told the Liverpool Echo: ‘I had a choice to make. Do I lie or do I tell the truth? I chose the latter because I’d gone through enough time living as not me so I promised myself that now I’d found who I truly was I would never… Read the full story

She looks pretty stylish to us.

A scorned store assistant has taken to Twitter after being sent home from work for wearing ‘too revealing’ shorts.

17-year-old Sylva Stoel from South Dakota, USA, was sent home from her job at department store JCPenney after her manager deemed her shorts inappropriate.

But here’s the thing – she’d bought them from the ‘career’ clothing section of that store. Go figure.

Taking to Twitter, Sylva (who clearly gives zero f*cks), posted a picture of herself in the outfit flipping the bird, before writing: ‘He asked how long it’d take for me to go home & change. I said “idk probably the whole day” I’m not coming back’

Nothing quite ruins a night out like cracking your phone screen, but for one night only that infuriating accident will be made impossible for Londoners.

iCracked is hosting ‘the world’s safest bar’ – or at least it will be for your phone, because everything will be covered in bubble wrap.

To be honest we’re just excited to sit in a bar where you can pop bubble wrap for hours, but knowing your phone is safe is an added bonus.

Ibiza’s fun. Mykonos is beautiful.

But you know which island offers fun, beauty and so much more – and comes with zero risk of ending up in San Antonio gurning at the sunrise?

Sardinia.

The Italian island offers 2,000km of Mediterranean coastline – much of it undeveloped – with the promise of the sort of sensational food and wine you expect from Italy, super-friendly locals, natural beauty and as much history as you can handle while on a prosecco hangover.

Inappropriate Asian Tops
Well, it’s certainly a statement

Oh dear.

Whereas us Brits tend to go abroad and get tattoos in foreign tongues (only to find out that they say ‘pad Thai’ rather than ‘peace and love’), there’s an unfortunate trend amongst non-English speakers to wear T-shirts bearing horribly inappropriate and nonsensical slogans.

From foul language, sentences with absolutely no possible meaning and disturbingly sexual content, these T-shirts really are crimes against fashion.

So look, laugh, but most importantly, remember: if the slogan is printed in a language you don’t speak, it’s probably best avoided.

Anyone suffering symptoms of withdrawal from the hit show Breaking Bad will be glad to hear there is something to ease the pain.

The shakes may continue but that’s because you’d be drinking the purest coffee in Istanbul.

Deniz Kosan has set up a  coffee shop in the center of Istanbul in honour of the television programme and it goes by the name of Walter’s Coffee Roastery.

If Walter and Jesse had turned their hand to making grade A coffee instead of crystal meth we imagine it would look exactly like this.

This is the ultimate fan’s dream with stainless steel appliances, beakers, yellow jumpsuits and coffee machinery that looks more at home in a lab than a shop.

The Golden Oreo is essentially vanilla and tastes a bit like a round custard cream to us.

Meanwhile the PB features the chocolate biscuit of a classic oreo and a smooth peanut butter filling.

The Peanut Butter Oreo will only be around in the UK for a year, so if you get a taste for them you’d better stock up.

Here’s a closer look at the Golden Oreo –

My Little Pony has taken some of our favourite famous BFFs and turned them into ponies to celebrate International Friendship Day.

It’s way harsh that not every pop culture duo gets to have awesome pony make overs, but we’re pretty happy with the collection they’ve chosen from Sesame Street icons to Transformers.

And with Clueless’s 20th birthday this year, it only makes sense that besties Cher and Dionne get to prance around in some of their most notable outfits.

Whilst adults can get nostalgic over the pony figures of notable friends from throughout entertainment history, kids can get involved with My Little Pony’s friendship activities that teach children to help others.

Win win.

Happy National Orgasm Day!

A day that cums but once a year and always has a Happy Ending.

But, while you may already be familiar with certain orgasm facts – they last anywhere between five and 22 seconds and release oxytocin and prolactin – there are others you may have missed.

Here’s 21 things you never knew about orgasms.

1. Birthgasms are a thing

Some women have orgasmed while giving birth.

Which, when you think of all the other things – crapping yourself, vaginal tears – is hardly the worst thing that could happen.

2. Semen moves faster than Usain Bolt

At 28 miles per hour ejaculation is speedier than the fastest man on earth who, at his peak has reached 27.79mph.

Be positive (Picture: Getty)

You’ve heard it before – you should love your body, you should love yourself…

People have been saying it for a while and with the body positivity movement as strong as ever, you would think there would be more body love going around.

Well, apparently some of you haven’t been listening, because 1/3 of Britons are still unhappy with their bodies!

And that’s not cool.

Last week, I released a bikini photo with my scars on show as part of the campaign Scarred not Scared and a few people replied saying they couldn’t do what I did because they don’t have any reasons to love their body.

EVERYONE has a reason to love their body, in… Read the full story
