Loads of us have got our own mantras for getting ‘beach body ready’ (an horrendous phrase but you get what I mean).

This mum's honest selfie shows exactly why C-sections aren't the 'easy way out'

After all, going on summer holiday tends to be the first time in the year that you’re in a position to show off huge swathes of skin outside the bedroom.

At home, it’s OK. Your love handles only really get an audience when you’re having sex or bathing, and usually, that’s with someone who likes the way you look anyway.

It’s good, but theres room for improvement (Picture: Getty)

Today, 13 May 2017, is International Hummus Day.

Now you may wonder whether the world really needs an entire day dedicated to hummus, but I say why not?

It’s delicious, healthy, great for vegans and you should totally have some with your lunch today.

I’ve gone from being someone who’d never heard of hummus as a child and didn’t try it until my 20s to being the mother of a family who get through at least three tubs of the stuff a week.

Classic hummus – a dip made with chickpeas, lemon, and tahini – is pretty delicious as it is, but it also lends itself… Read the full story

London Tea Terrace, a restaurant with branches at House of Fraser Oxford Street and House of Fraser Victoria Street, now offers a Cinderella carriage as a table.

Yup. It’s a table inside a stationary carriage, where you can sit, eat, and look down on all the peasants eating at regular, non-carriage tables.

METRO GRAPHICS15 things people with social anxiety want you to understand

We’re not sure why it took us so bloody long to put the two together, other than the pressure to be a proper adult who eats vegetables and salmon and does not drench perfectly good snacks in chocolate.

But here we are. Finally, someone’s made Nutella fries a thing. What a time to be alive.

For the month of May, Sydney-based restaurant Butter is serving up Nutella fries.

Nutella fries are French fries smothered in Nutella and topped with nuts.

Like all mental illnesses, social anxiety isn’t the easiest of conditions to understand. That goes for the people who live with it every day so it’s little wonder that those with no experience of it struggle to get their heads around it.

I am not sure why I suffer from social anxiety and can’t even pin point when it started. I certainly don’t fully know what the triggers are and why on some days I feel confident as hell and on others I can’t even leave the house.

But there are some things that I do know and, with the knowledge that I am not alone, here are 15… Read the full story

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

A former bride-to-be threw a party to trash her wedding dress and set it on fire

A bride-to-be, who broke up with her fiancé a few months before their big day, threw a party to trash her £1,000 wedding dress – covering it with fluorescent paint before setting it on fire.

Jen Brown, 27, was heartbroken when fiancé Jared, 29, ended their two-year relationship, after falling out of love with her just before their wedding.

Instead of quietly licking her wounds, Jen wore the gown to its own farewell… Read the full story

Barbecues are by far the worst thing about summer.

Yes, even worse than wasps – because they are generally unavoidable.

11 ways children always ruin holidays (so you might as well leave them at home)

The sun comes out, the mercury rises and the delicious smell of sizzling meat fills the air.

That is really the only tolerable thing about barbecues because, apart from the sweet smell of burgers and sausages, everything else about them sucks.

The logical answer to this crisis, we reckon, would be for people to learn how to safely cut an avocado.
