According to an international study on menstruation, there are at least 5,000 different euphemisms and slang words for ‘period’ around the world.
The survey into how comfortable people are talking about periods was carried out by Clue in association with The International Women’s Health Coalition.
It canvassed opinion from 90,000 people across 190 different countries, and identified around 5,000 different terms for being on the blob.
The survey also investigated how much information girls were given at school about periods in different countries.
