Makers say the so-called Therapea face mask will transform skin thanks to peas’ high antioxidant content.
The simple yet revolutionary mask will be sold exclusively in Iceland as the retailer branches out into health and beauty.
It comes in a £1.99 sachet and promises anti-ageing and hydrating results.
‘Nutritional value is not the only quality that peas posses,’ says a spokesperson.
‘They’re rich in vitamins A, C and B6 as well as zinc, so can play a key role in the regeneration of collagen, the substance that gives our skin its firmness and elasticity.’
Iceland has sold peas since the 70s and is now expanding into beauty after discovering the food holds secrets to youthful-looking skin.
