We’ve all been having a good laugh with April Fools Day jokes today, but when should the fun end?
Well, traditionally you can only tell April Fools jokes until midday on 1 April, after that time you are meant to come clean about your pranks.
But increasingly people are throwing the April Fools Day rule book out the window because busy work schedules mean they haven’t got time for pranks in the morning.
Instead many are delaying their gags for friends, family and kids until the evening, and some are even telling their jokes before April 1.

Really, getting a cat tattoo (yes, we’re trying really, really hard not to call them cattoos) is a much more responsible choice than getting your boyfriend’s name etched on your ankle.
Because your love for cats will last for all eternity.
Cats are always there for you (even when they’re being dicks). They’ll never let you down. They’re adorable and lovely and you love them.
What better way to celebrate that love than by getting an artistic tribute to cats somewhere on your body?
“Auntie Mandy, can I touch your boobs?”
So my autistic niece likes to ask me repeatedly. And I am so glad to have her in my life because without her I would never have understood the joy that an autistic child can bring to their family or learnt not to be embarrassed by questions like this.
Today is World Autism Awareness Day. Although we know so much more about autism than we did twenty or thirty years ago, it is still so important for all of us to make sure we are autism aware. And here are 10 good reasons why:
1. About 700,000 people in the UK alone are on the autism spectrum and with their families… Read the full story

Joel and Aiste Gazdar are on a mission to transform our relationship with food.
The chefs and owners of London’s Wild Food Café, known for their use of ‘biodiverse’, creative and unusual plant ingredients, are currently turning their attention to bones.
You may have heard of bone broth – a trendy soup made from boiling animal bones, which is touted as being full of minerals and collagen to boost your health.
Well, Joel and Aiste find the whole trend quite amusing and suggest that in lieu of animal bone broth we should be tucking into wild seaweed broth instead.
Here’s why.
It’s World Autism Awareness Day today and whilst sensory issues are a well known aspect of Autism Spectrum Disorder, they also affect a huge number of people who might only have minor traits of ASD and no actual diagnosis.
A lot of things that barely register for most people can have a huge effect on others. Here are just a few of the things that are pretty much guaranteed to distress my own autistic child:
1. Fluorescent lights
See those strip lights in supermarkets? They make a noise. You might not be able to hear them, but some people can. They… Read the full story
Robert Lee Bailey is a photographer whose project captures pro-life protesters in a new light.
After accompanying his girlfriend to an appointment at Planned Parenthood for her routine medical care, they were met with a bunch of angry pro-lifers, who were intent on making their appointment as difficult as possible – even though they weren’t actually there for an abortion.
Having struck a chord with Robert, he found the perfect opportunity to make his feelings known when a 40 Days for Life Campaign entered their city.
During the campaigners’ stay, protesters rallied together outside of the clinic for twelve hours at a time.… Read the full story

Spring is here, everything’s beautiful, and we’re just going to pretend we don’t need to wear our coats anymore. Yes, even when we’re shivering.
Japan kicked off their annual Cherry Blossom Festival – also known as Hanami – this week.
It’s a month long celebration of the beginning of spring, new life, and nature.
Japan’s Cherry Blossom Festival officially began on the April 1st, and will run until the end of May. Residents and visitors are invited to pop down to their nearest park to see… Read the full story
Okay, we’re calling it. The need for all food to be ultra-Instagrammable has gone too far.
We had the rainbow bagel – which apparently had a ‘bit of a weird taste’ for the sake of appearances. We had the sushi burger – which you CLEARLY CANNOT EAT WITH YOUR HANDS.
And now, we have the raindrop cake.
It is a work of art. It’s incredible that we can create a dessert that truly does look like a raindrop. It really is very impressive.
But there is no. damn. need. for a cake to look like this. We… Read the full story
Well, this puts all our cutesy romantic gestures to shame.
On March 17, 1965, Germaine Langdon decided to write a note to her husband, Roy.
But romantic that she was, Germaine didn’t just scribble ‘love ya’ on a piece of paper. Nope. She carved it into the drywall of their home in Blezard Valley, Ontario, the night before the drywall was due to be covered with paneling.
Roy and Germaine eventually ended up moving out of the house, and in 2006 Germaine passed away.
But… Read the full story
The internet was filled with shock and outrage this week when a man named Paul Hopkinson shared a video of a large cupful of Costa coffee easily pouring into a regular cup.
Why the heck were we paying 30p extra for the same amount of coffee, we asked. WHY.
Costa responded with a seemingly very responsible message, explaining that yes, a large coffee will fit into the regular cup, but only to the absolute brim – which is too dangerous considering the risk of scalding hot spills.
Plus, they explained, what you’re really paying for is actually an extra shot of… Read the full story
We honestly don’t know why we never thought of this before.
Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar at the Conrad New York is now selling what may be the most genius summer cocktail of all time. Seriously. No exaggeration.
Presenting the cocktail you’re going to be drinking the second the sun comes out: a glass of prosecco with an ice lolly thrown in.
Loopy Doopy has actually been selling the cocktails for the past four summers, but – thanks to the rise of Instagram – last year is when they really made it big. The bar has just… Read the full story
Period sex. A monthly delight or something to be entirely avoided and never spoken of?
According to the Facebook comments on our recent post about a tampon you can wear during sex, it’s a serious debate.
For some reason, loads of men and women think period sex is ‘gross’, ‘disgusting’, and ‘nasty’.
Which is pretty infuriating, to be honest, because all this squeamishness is just reinforcing the idea that periods are disgusting and shameful, and that – in effect – women’s bodies are, too.
Okay, so we’ve found out why men get down on one knee to propose, why we wear diamond engagement rings, and why brides wear white dresses.
Now’s clearly the time to work out why brides wear massive sheets of chiffon on their head.
We are, of course, talking about the veil. The dramatic, elegant, but probably very irritating in practice veil.
Why do we wear them? What do they mean? And when did they become a thing that all traditional brides would wear?
The truth is, no one’s entirely… Read the full story
I’m tired. You’re tired. We’re all exhausted and it’s a serious problem.
But no matter how many mornings we wake up hating everything, and no matter how bleary and bloodshot our eyes become, we just can’t seem to get it together and get to sleep at a reasonable time.
We’re not getting that little sleep, right? We’re busy. It’s not that important, anyway.
Here’s a wake-up call (pun intended).
A new study from the Royal Society for Public Health has found that British people are missing out on one full night’s sleep per week.
So, you’ve got a flaky scalp. It’s cool. It’s okay. Loads of people do.
You’re armed with your trusted Head & Shoulders (or whatever alternative anti-dandruff shampoo you use), you’re safe in the knowledge that this will give you the flake-free scalp you crave, and everything’s fine.
Except for some reason, you’re still getting dandruff. Your shampoo isn’t working. Why?
It might all be down to your conditioner.
As Francesca Fusco told Women’s Health, using a regular conditioner after washing your hair will completely counteract the flake-preventing properties of your anti-dandruff shampoo.
Meet Carol Gracias. She’s a supermodel. She’s a reality TV star. She’s stunning. And she’s also pregnant.
This week, Carol kicked down a whole bunch of conventions of high fashion by walking the runway for designer Gaurang Shah at Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai – while heavily pregnant.
It’s a big deal. Even having a 37-year-old model walking the runway comes as a surprise (depressingly), thanks to the overwhelming sea of teen and early-twenties models.
But a pregnant woman appearing in a fashion show is even more important. It proves that there’s no reason for pregnant women to be excluded from… Read the full story
